Board-certified Family Medicine physician Gregory Williams, MD, joined Saint Agnes Care to practice at both Saint Agnes Urgent Care locations – Main Campus and Northwest.

As the former medical director of Virtual Medicine for John Muir Medical Group in Walnut Creek, Calif., Dr. Williams will help assist with building a telemedicine program for Saint Agnes. He has practiced urgent care medicine for the last four years at John Muir Medical Center, and previously served as a hospitalist for Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland, Calif., and Northbay Medical Center in Fairfield, Calif.

Dr. Williams earned his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and completed residency training at University of  California, San Francisco. In addition, Dr. Williams is an active member of the American Telehealth Association and the Urgent Care Association of America.

After witnessing the devastating effects of preventable chronic diseases in his family, Dr. Williams was inspired to become a physician at age 19.

“I grew up in a family with people who suffered from preventative health problems and we unfortunately lost some family members to these preventable diseases,” he says. “I decided to choose a career that not only gives back to the community, but helps prevent diseases  – so medicine seemed like a good fit.”

Originally from Pittsburg in the Easy Bay area of California, Dr. Williams is excited to explore the Central Valley. During his free time, he enjoys rock climbing, cooking, motorcycles, cars, attending church and teaching bible study courses.
